Bart Lindstrom is a nationally recognized portrait artist and oil painter of various subjects.  His tenure runs deep with his paintings hanging in our State Capitols and Federal courtrooms. His work is in many private and corporate collections and he has exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries and museums across the United States and Canada. Among his prominent collectors are several dignitaries, and  United States senators William Armstrong and the late Jesse Helms, Tennessee Governor Ned McWherter, Roots author Alex Haley, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Vice President Dan Quayle, and former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell.

Bart was born and raised in Southern California, where nature and the outdoors were his first artistic inspiration. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in business marketing but soon realized that his future lay in his first love. He went on to study at the Art Center in Pasadena. His professional career started with watercolors and then moved into oils. He quickly started to specialize in portrait and figurative paintings. Bart is also  a sought-after conference speaker. As a former board member of the American Society of Portrait Artists, he helped found the Portrait Society of America. Represented by Shuptrine’s Gallery, Bonny Shuptrine, has said “I love handing off a job to Bart as he is so easy to work with and always has a perfection to capturing his subjects.  Portraiture is not for shy artist- you have to have confidence in your work, and we pride ourselves with working only with those artists that always have a desired outcome and listen to the buyer.  Bart has an innate sense of not only children, but the dignified and timeless portraiture of adult men and women as well. “

Bart continues to travel for his subjects, with a meet and greet, and a preliminary sketch for the goal of making sure all parties are satisfied with his work.  Shuptrine’s Gold Leaf Designs creates one-of-a -kind fine framing for his portraits. He resides in California and Arizona, but travels to Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and Kentucky continually.  He has lectured and demonstrated at the American Society of Portrait Artists, taught at the Art Students League in New York City, and at the annual Seminars of the Portrait Society of America.
