After beginning his professional career as an artist, he quickly started to specialize in portrait and figurative paintings. As a former board member of the American Society of Portrait Artists, he helped found the Portrait Society of America. Bart continues to travel for his subjects, with a meet and greet, and a preliminary sketch for the goal of making sure all parties are satisfied with his work. Shuptrine’s creates one-of-a -kind fine framing for his portraits and paintings. He resides in California and Arizona, but travels to Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and Kentucky continually. He has lectured and demonstrated at the American Society of Portrait Artists, taught at the Art Students League in New York City, and at the annual Seminars of the Portrait Society of America.
